Rain and an invitation to sail with friends punctuated the week and caused me to jump around a bit among projects, some old, some new. Spring has come to Ventura and the local wildflowers are in full bloom. Sick of flower pictures yet?

The week was dominated by a trip to Sacramento to visit friends, get some things out of storage, and get my taxes done. Making the trip entailed boarding my dog at the vet, which entailed...well, you don't want to know.
Despite the trials and tribulations of travel, I managed to get a few little things done on the boat. Tomorrow I plan to take her out to find a way to get her in and out of the slip. In the words of Uffa Fox, "...an owner can go on perfecting his vessel and her gear for ever, and the only way to stop is to put to sea; so long as a vessel is in harbour there will always be details that can be, and therefore are, altered for the better."

I took care of several small projects this week. The most important was probably the revamping of the trash bin because Carol had gotten irritated by the heavy and awkward lid. A bit of socializing balanced the work nicely. Carol came up Saturday evening just in time for Conrad's (a dockmate) birthday party. Sunday we got some fresh Ahi straight from the boat in the morning and then went up to Santa Barbara for lunch at the Santa Barbara Yacht Club. Lunch was followed by a walk along State Street and a visit to the Santa Barbara Art Museum.
Finally, since the flower photos are inexplicably much more popular than pictures of greasy and corroded engine parts, and since some nearby wildflowers are in bloom, I've taken and posted a few more flower pictures.
