I completed the bulk of the finishing of the wood trim in the aft cabin with the sixth coat of RapidCoat.  I will probably dress things up a bit more by putting on several coats of high gloss varnish on selected areas.  In the meantime, I started refinishing the sole (floor).  After much sanding, I found there were a couple of spots that were stained all the way through the veneer. Fortunately, they were along edges where they can be covered by new pieces of trim that won't be in the way.
Carol came up for a visit and we took a little trip out to Filmore where there was some kind of special event going on.   There were antique cars on display and they were running the old steam train as well.  We also got to see the locomotive turntable demonstrated.
Spring wild flowers are in bloom around the harbor, but due to less rainfall, they are not as abundant as last year.

Despite many damp and foggy days, work was very focused on finishing the aft cabin hanging locker, including the louvered doors and vent, and getting more coats of varnish on the other woodwork in the aft cabin.  It took some work and edge-grinding to get the louvered doors hung properly and working smoothly, but it came out nicely in the end.
My canvas-maker continued work on patterns for the cockpit enclosure, and a marine upholsterer come by to get measurements for an estimate on making the cushions for the aft quarterberths.
No Carol this weekend, so I had to party by myself.  Tough.

It was busy and varied week.  After a rigorous paddle Saturday morning, I went to a christening/renaming ceremony at the yacht club, which was both fun and educational.  Turns out there are a lot of gods whose favor must be curried-especially the Norse ones when the boat is Swedish. I spent the rest of the weekend in LA with Carol.  Heard an astrophysicist explain pulsars in language that was understandable by anyone and got tour of an amazing shop where Carol's friend Bob has been building model railroad cars and steam locomotives for more than 40 years.
On Circadian, I had to deal with a very unpleasant leak from the holding tank and cope with lots of foggy days that made varnishing ill-advised.  Still managed to get some finish work done, though.  My canvas guy is supposed to come next Sunday to do some patterns, but the guy who was supposed to do the berth cushions failed to call as promised.  I'll have to start pestering him.   Wish me luck!
