Got quite a bit accomplished this week:  finished refurbishing the oars and the cockpit sole, painted the line wrapping on the steering wheel and mounted the last two pieces of trim in the doghouse.  As part of re-doing the oars, I tried sewing my own oar leathers.  Not hard at all, and it came out fine.  I also experimented with coating the oar tips with PlastiDip rubber.  It looks fine now, but I don't think it will work as it doesn't seem to adhere well.  Time will tell.....

Spent the weekend at Carol's.  Did some photo work and went to LA's Grand Central Market for lunch. Interesting place.  Got the verdict on my skin biopsy:  benign as expected.

  1. I like this novel post this week, and the oars of march came out nicey nice, but I wonder how many walnuts you had to eat for that floor to take FX. And how did you grind them down, or did you just use your teeth and spit it out into a mess on the floor and dry them in the sun?

The grey leather on the oars remind me of an old knight lance. Do you partake in contests between boats, pushing the losers into the water?

Summer is almost gone, again...time for you to consider a fall sail, as your boat is new and the weather is becoming better for such thoughts.
