It's been a busy, but unexciting week getting the boat ready to go to sea again and get hauled out for bottom paint.  Some of it is boat work, some is just bureaucratic paperwork.  It all takes longer and is more work than it ought to be.  I did enjoy some spectacular sunsets that sometimes come with the big thunderstorms.
For the boat geeks among you, here is the list I've been working my way through:

Completed:
  • Annual (150 hour) engine maintenance
  • Check, top off and bleed the hydraulic steering
  • Check and update Personal Locator Beacon registration
  • Get a new fishing license
  • Renew Mexican liability insurance
  • Remount and check electronics and autopilot
  • Check navigation, steaming and anchor lights
  • Secure bike, surfboard and jerry cans
  • Remove and stow cockpit canvas
  • Remove, clean and stow window shade screens
Still to be done:
  • Empty dock box
  • Secure everything for sea
  • Fill the water tank
  • Provision
  • Clean and stow sun awning
  • Stow the air conditioner
  • Rig lightning rod and ground for sea
  • Stow water hose and shore power cord
  • Check out with the marina and Port Captain
Paradise ain't fer sissies!

Black-bellied whistling ducks

Damn fishermen are late with our lunch again!

Transitioning to sailing mode.  Sun awning will be one
of the last dock mode items removed.

Dodger window shades got a good scrub before stowing.
