Agua Verde

Next stop was Agua Verde (green water), another delightful little fishing village.  The photos will tell the story.

Typical fantastic landscape between Timbabiche and
Agua Verde

It's hard to grasp the scale of the formations,
but the big cat on the horizon gives you
some idea.

My neighbor

Took the dink ashore to explore a bit and try to get
wi-fi at the store.  Dogs, kids and pelicans share the
shallow water near shore.

Looking into the anchorage (see Circadian?),
beyond is the isthmus on the north side.

Flying rats harass the fishermen that
have brought in a catch.

This is the market!  For 30 pesos, you can get
wi-fi of a sort.

The main intersection of the village

Although small, remote and humble, the residents of
the village clearly take pride in their pueblo.
It's clean, and they take the trouble to line the dirt roads
with painted rocks.

sound of bells heard.

Looking north from the ridge

On the far side of the ridge is the old cemetery.

Sun, wind and flash floods have taken their toll on the
monuments.

Given the remoteness, it's not surprising
that the monuments are simple.
Still, they are touching.  This child died
in its first year, and is 'remembered by
your father.'

Another.  Most graves were from thelate
1940's, some a bit earlier, some a bit later.

Back on the beach for breakfast at one of two restaurants.
All freshly made and very good.
