With no visit with Carol last weekend, I had some more time for project work.  (No rest for the weary!)  But that was okay as I made great progress and arguably reached a milestone or two.  The aft cabin is looking very good and the aft head is essentially finished.  I even remounted the head door that I refinished almost exactly (OMG!) three years ago (see the February 13, 2010 blog).  I also resolved the irksome problem with the shower sump pump by reinstalling the original pump (after refinishing it with spray-on bedliner).   I'm now at Carol's for a Valentine's Day dinner.  Life is good!

Work in the aft cabin continued this week with the refinishing of the the floor in the head and the fiberglass liner that is the cabinet for the drawers under the berths and vanity.  The next phase of work will require my clearing out even more things from the aft cabin area, and I'm running out of places to put things.  The simplest solution was to rent another locker space from the marina, for a total of three!  But at $12/mo each, I can't complain.  In addition to the interior work, I did some cleaning up on deck, in part because I finally found someone to do some canvas work for me at a reasonable price and I had to get things out of his way.  (Stay tuned to see how it turns out).
Spent the weekend in LA with Carol.  We did a little hike around Lake Hollywood, had some good meals and watched a couple of trashy movies for a change.  Relaxing GOOD!

Unusually low temperatures this week created some extra challenges.  I had to take measures to warm adhesives and coatings to get them into their usable range.  My little electric heater went into the aft cabin so it would be warm enough for things to cure properly, and my little fireplace wasn't quite up to keeping the main cabin warm on its own with the dorade vents open and the overhead just bare fiberglass.  Nonetheless, it was a good productive week:  got a lot done with good results.
