Projects Completed in 2012

- Re-configured secondary bow anchor set-up
- Fixed leaking Skipper head
- Made and installed a teak-trimmed white panel at foot of v-berth to hide windlass motor and mount flatscreen TV
- Put varnished mahogany boards across anchor locker opening at foot of v-berth to retain rode while allowing ventilation
- Installed large turning blocks with custom teak bases for improved genoa sheet leads
- Made, varnished and installed new teak handrail on edge of galley counter
- Refinished some galley trim and bulkheads
- Repaired the lip on the engine room hatch cover
- Replaced old wood cockpit side panels with new StarBoard panels
- Installed new faucet and new StarBoard mounting base in galley and new faucet/shower in forward head
- Made new StarBoard stovetop and sink covers and new trash bin lid
- Installed bronze port in forward head
- Sealed joints around galley countertop
- Tied tapered wood plugs to thru-hull seacocks
- Replaced cockpit manual bilge pump, glassed over and faired old openings
- Epoxied, faired and painted trim around forward hatch
- Made removable teak-trimmed StarBoard galley counter shelf for use between hanging locker and forward head
- Completed 150 hour engine/transmission maintenance
- Modified solar panel installation to allow adjustment of angle using adjustable stainless steel hatch holders
- Rounded and refinished hawse pipes in bow bulwarks and rechromed the bronze trim rings
- Refinished galley cabinets, added black acrylic trim above fridge door, replaced tacky plywood stove gimbal block with new HDPE block with teak bungs; covered damaged lower galley cabinet doors with white Komatex trimmed with wood
- Bought new stainless steel kayak rack for stanchions and mounted them on port side of poopdeck;  designed and had made a custom canvas cover for the kayak
- Mounted previously designed and built fish-cleaning table next to bbq on poopdeck using stainless steel tubing legs and clips on stainless wire lifeline
- Made and mounted a removable StarBoard filler panel to extend port cockpit seat to forward bulkhead and allow storage below
- Added complete stern anchor system including Fortress FX 23 anchor, roller, hawse pipe and cover, rode locker in aft lazarette, 600 feet of new 5/8 inch 8-plait nylon line with eyesplice around stainless thimble, and new high-test chain
- Designed and had made a canvas cover for the anchor windlass
- Restored/replaced water-tight bulkhead between aft cabin and aft lazarette; added a step/bracket for storing emergency tiller
- Removed old household window air conditioner from double-walled water-tight bulkhead behind forward companionway ladder, rebuilt/resealed bulkhead and replaced panel behind the ladder
- Reinforced, restored and refinished the hatch and hatch base for the aft lazarette and added a new stainless steel lift handle, vent and locking hasp
- Installed new Komatex overhead panel for the forward head including wiring and installing two recessed LED lights with weatherproof switch
- Installed stainless steel hasps on cockpit lazarette lids
- Added hardware under engine room access hatch to secure cover in the event of flooding or capsize
- Sanded and refinished some of the original woodwork in the aft cabin, including the companionway ladder; repaired hole in bulkhead behind the ladder
- Painted bare fiberglass overhead in aft cabin and aft head, bonded on new stringers, and installed a new oak batten overhead
- Replaced incandescent bulbs with LEDs in existing fixtures
- Bought a used Yamaha 3 hp outboard in excellent condition to replace old Mariner on dinghy
- Sanded and repainted bulkheads in aft cabin and the fiberglass liner in the aft head
- Covered bare fiberglass trunk cabin walls in aft cabin and aft head with new oak battens trimmed with varnished mahagony
- Covered bare fiberglass overhead above aft cabin berths with insulation and new painted panels including new recessed LED lights with weatherproof switches and handmade teak veneer shades
- Removed, stripped, refinished and remounted shelf fiddles and grab handles in aft cabin
- Fabricated, finished and installed new fiddles for shelves in v-berth
- Replaced webbing dinghy hoist bridles with stainless wire rope and thimbles
- Replaced shower sump pump
- Added new stringers to bare fiberglass of inside of hull along aft quarterberths, added insulation covered with new oak battens
- Added sound insulation around freshwater pump
- Wired new lighting circuits for aft cabin
- Restored, epoxied, faired and painted weathered teak louvered engine room vents
- Removed old teak cleats for genoa sheets, plugged holes, sanded and refinished teak cockpit coaming
- Built two new drawers for "vanity" in the aft cabin
- Cleaned bilge and bilge pump float switch, replaced defective T-valve in discharge lines with Y connector
- Stowed my fishing rods under the doghouse overhead and awning using the boomgallows and strap eyes
- Fabricated and installed a new underdeck panel in the aft head
- Sanded, prepped and painted the fiberglass liner in the aft head
- Refinished the teak trim in the aft cabin head
- Sanded teak trim around outside of doghouse and sealed with penetrating epoxy

Whew!  No wonder I get pooped!
